The Edge Media Group will host its 14th annual Pink Out Friday afternoon at the studios of WKDZ and WHVO.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Pink Out is held to provide hope and courage for people who have endured a breast cancer diagnosis and a reminder of the importance of early detection.
Donations received at the Pink Out will benefit the non-profit Pink Ribbon Network. Ann Isom said the organization began in 2006 and turns contributions into support bags for cancer patients, which often include monogrammed fleece blankets, small under-arm support pillows for post-op, information, and other pink ribbon-related items.
She added the mission statement of the Pink Ribbon Network is support and encouragement.

Kathy Anderson with the Pink Ribbon Network said the community support received has been overwhelming.

The Pink Out begins at 3:00 with WKDZ broadcasting live from 3 to 5. People are encouraged to stop by and get a Think Pink T-shirt, a goody bag, and Hancock’s Neighborhood Market cupcakes when the Pink Out begins at 3:00. Trigg Hospital will have flu shots available, and donations will be accepted for the Pink Ribbon Network.
