Salvation Army Angel Tree Sign Ups Due Oct. 31

The Salvation Army Hopkinsville Corps, which serves Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, is accepting registration for the 2023 Angel Tree program until Oct. 31.

Corps Officer Lt. Lindsey Galabeas says the Angel Tree program is an assistance program for families who are struggling or need some help during the holidays. It helps get brand new gifts for children ages 0-12, as well as senior citizens aged 62 and older.

There is no limit to the number of families that can register for the program, as long as they are registered by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31.

There are a few necessary documents needed to register:

– Valid photo identification for the adult signing up

– Original or copy of birth certificate OR Medicaid card that shows child’s birth date

– Custody papers if person signing up is not biological parent of the child

– Verification of need: If families receive food stamps, the only item needed is proof of food stamps. If a family does NOT receive food stamps, proof of all household income is needed (pay stubs, Social Security, child support, etc.)

– Current utility bill OR rent receipt verifying current address

– Telephone number where person can be reached or message can be left

– Clothing and shoe sizes for all children in household and gift suggestions.

Families can sign up online at saangeltree.org. Applications cannot be finalized without the necessary documentation.
