While Trigg Countians registered to vote in the November General Election can vote at any of the seven polling locations on Tuesday, November 7, there will be a change for those who choose to vote in Cerulean.
County Clerk Carmen Finley told Your News Edge that voters will no longer cast ballots at the Cerulean Volunteer Fire Department, instead, they will now visit Cerulean Baptist Church.
Finley said the fire department has some maintenance issues that have arisen.
There will be six other locations on Election Day that any Trigg County voter can visit.
The absentee mail-in portal remains open until Tuesday, October 24, with ballots able to be returned at the Trigg County Clerk’s office drop box, handed to a deputy clerk, or taken to the drive-through window at 38 Main Street.
In-person excused voting will be allowed Wednesday, October 25 through Wednesday, November 1, at the Trigg County Clerk’s Office during regular office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In-person early voting will be available for all registered voters from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2 through Saturday, November 4, at the Emergency Operations Center at 39 Jefferson Street.
While this election focuses on state-wide offices like Governor and Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Ag Commissioner, etc., there will be two constable positions on the ballot. Both will be write-in and are only for voters who live in the first and seventh districts of Trigg County.
Finley said that as of Thursday morning, there were no write-in candidates for either position – the deadline to file is Friday, October 27.
The constable position was established in Kentucky in 1850, and these days – they deliver subpoenas, eviction notices, and other paper documents to residents, and the position is unpaid.
