A Hopkinsville man was charged Wednesday with DUI and assault after a wreck on East 12th Street that injured several people on August 15th.
Hopkinsville Police say a van driven by 22-year-old Emmanuel Ixcol Lopez was eastbound when it hit a parked SUV pushing it into four people on the side of the road. Ixcol Lopez, along with Nyjana Kimbrough, were flown to a Nashville hospital.
Three other people who were hit by the parked vehicle were treated at the scene for injuries.
Ixcol-Lopez was arrested Wednesday and charged with no operator’s license, no registration receipt, failure to maintain required insurance, fourth-degree assault, DUI, and first-degree assault.
