The rebuilding process for Hopkinsville’s The Mixer continues progressing now that a roof is in place.
Keeping spirits high, restaurant owner Heather Dawson provided an update on the construction process. Electrical work is underway and installing new equipment is the next task on the checklist, as all of it in the kitchen and bar area was destroyed.
Dawson added they are hoping to return in early 2024.
Dawson had some people to thank for the progress being made in the restaurant space.
The building’s third floor experienced significant damage when 90 MPH winds entered downtown Hopkinsville late Friday, March 31, 2023. The restaurant is located on East 6th Street.
