Bringing in the harvest in a safe and efficient manner is a key focus of the crew at Hopkinsville Elevator and Commonwealth Agri Energy.
Commonwealth Agri Energy CEO Mick Henderson says during the six weeks of corn harvest in the fall the Casky branch of Hopkinsville Elevator becomes an extremely busy place.
Henderson says grain unloading at the Casky branch provides room for farmers to sell thousands of bushels of grain every day.
He adds each truck holds a significant amount of grain.
A portion of the corn that is unloaded at the Casky branch is transferred next door to Commonwealth Agri Energy where it is turned into four different products.
Hopkinsville Elevator and Commonwealth Agri Energy are owned by farmers in Western Kentucky and northern Tennessee.
