Woman Charged With Drug Possession After Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville led to drug charges for a woman Sunday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 32-year-old Heather Baker was a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped for an expired registration and during the stop a law enforcement K9 alerted on the vehicle.

After a search, a grinder, several pills, and marijuana were reportedly found in her purse.

The driver 29-year-old Brank Shelton of Crofton was found to have a suspended license and no insurance on the vehicle.

Police say at the jail Baker was found to have meth hidden on her body. She is charged with resisting arrest, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and tampering with physical evidence.

Shelton was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, failure to maintain required insurance, no registration plates, and failure to register the transfer of a motor vehicle.
