Deputies have released more information about a wreck on Pilot Rock Road near the intersection of Shaw Ovil Road that sent a child to the hospital Thursday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say just after 8 a.m. an SUV driven by 28-year-old Martha Martin of Hopkinsville was eastbound when it collided with a westbound horse and buggy that crossed the center line.
9-year-old Karen Weaver who was in the buggy was treated by Hopkinsville EMS and a helicopter was called to transport Weaver to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Deputies say the horse was startled by a light before entering the eastbound lane and was found after the crash uninjured.
