Michael Frank Rochelle of Hopkinsville, age 77, passed away on September 4, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was also born in 1946 and was surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, September 8 at 12:00 at the Southside Church of Christ in Hopkinsville.
Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 until 12:00.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 59 years, Susan Sevier Rochelle, and his children, Michael James Rochelle (LeeAnne) of Nashville, TN, and Beth Rochelle Hixon (Brent) of Brentwood, TN. He is also survived by his loving “little” brother Mac Ellis Rochelle (Diane) of Nashville. His grandchildren are Zachary Hixon, Michael Roy Rochelle, and Elizabeth Rose Rochelle.
Mike attended college at the University of Oklahoma where he obtained his RPh and began his pharmacy career in Lexington before moving to Hopkinsville. He was a pharmacist for 43 years. He also served as an Elder at Southside Church of Christ and President of Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club for many years. He loved to play golf with his many friends and family. Friends nicknamed him Rock and his grandkids called him G-Daddy and Granddaddy. His personality was such a fun-loving man and made everyone enjoy being around him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Mac Brown Rochelle and Elaine Waddey Rochelle, Mac and Elaine adopted Mike at 3 months old and always knew he helped make their family whole.
The family would like to also acknowledge additional surviving family members related to his birth mother, Helen Nichols. While only having met them a few times they made him feel like a missing piece of their family.
Terrell Broady Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of the arrangements.
