Paducah Man Charged In Interstate 24 Pursuit

A Paducah man was charged after he reportedly led law enforcement on a pursuit on Interstate 24 Friday night.

Kentucky State Police say they were called to the area for a report of a reckless driver on Interstate 24 in Lyon County and located the vehicle driven by 35-year-old Jeremy Johnson and when they attempted to stop him he fled.

A tire deflation device was reportedly used at the US 68 exit stopping the pursuit but Johnson would not exit the vehicle and pushed the officer towards traffic.

Police say they used an electrical weapon and Johnson was arrested and charged with DUI, first-degree fleeing or evading police, third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and other traffic violations.
