Megan Louise Smithson, 45, of Hopkinsville, died at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, Lebanon, Tenn.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 25, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. Burial will follow in McGhee Cemetery at a later date. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Greenville, she was born May 1, 1978, the daughter of the late Larry Wayne Smithson, Sr., and Marlena Mignery Smithson of Hopkinsville, KY. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her half-brother, Stephen Douglas Smithson.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her fiancé: Daniel Wood of Hopkinsville; her half-brothers: Larry Wayne (Stacey) Smithson, Jr. of Millington, Tenn. and Mickey (Heather) Thornell of Hopkinsville; her Mama2, MaryKaye Simmons of Hopkinsville, and her beloved dog, Pepee’.
Memorial contributions in Megan’s memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or by planting a tree in her memory.
