Suspect In Witty Lane Assault Case Could Face Deportation

The man charged with a December stabbing on Witty Lane saw his assault charge continued to September although he may not be in the country to appear.

42-year-old Benito Bautista was charged with first-degree assault after Christian County Sheriff’s deputies said stabbed a man with a knife several times.

During a Wednesday appearance in Christian County Circuit Court, Bautista’s attorney Carlos Moran said his client has a hearing scheduled and that he could be deported.
