Details Released In Hopkinsville Pursuit

A Clarksville man was charged after he reportedly led law enforcement on a pursuit on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to talk with 42-year-old Corey Middleton after a report of him driving through a yard near the Dollar General on East 9th Street.

Middleton’s SUV was found parked in the roadway and he reportedly drove off when police arrived leading law enforcement on a short pursuit before coming to a stop in a parking lot on Katie Peden Drive.

Police say Middleton would not comply with the officer’s commands and the window had to be broken and he was pulled from the vehicle.

After taking Middleton into custody a juvenile was reportedly found in the backseat of the vehicle.

Middleton is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, driving on a DUI suspended license second offense, first-degree wanton endangerment, and DUI.
