Maxine Williams Bentley, 91, of Hopkinsville

A celebration of life for 91-year-old Maxine Williams Bentley, of Hopkinsville, will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 15, at First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the funeral hour.

Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include:
Two sons, Joseph Neil Bentley (Sherrie), of Hopkinsville, and Gary Lee Bentley (Lynn Ward), of LaGrange;
Daughter, Rita Sue Belcher, of Hillview;
Two sisters, Betty Whitfill, of Leitchfield, and Shirley Jones (Bob) of Cox’s Creek;
Four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bentley died July 4, 2023, at her home of natural causes.

She was born on September 26, 1931, in Big Clifty, the daughter of the late Clovus and Ethel Fulkerson Williams.

She worked as a seamstress at DB’s Men’s Store, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon and an elder. She taught middle school and adult Sunday school, was kitchen manager, and was involved in the Trinity Women’s Bible Study and Keeping It Real Bible Study.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel D. Bentley; her brothers, Ira Williams, and Rupert Williams; and her sister Imogene Skaggs.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to First Presbyterian Church Youth Group, 303 E. 9th Street Hopkinsville, Ky 42240.
