A woman was flown to the hospital after she was shot on Petsch Lane in Christian County Saturday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the home for a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. The woman was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to a waiting helicopter that flew her to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Deputies say after further investigation it was found that 47-year-old Jeffrey Proffitt had gotten into an argument with the woman and allegedly shot her in the leg.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
