Oak Grove Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Trafficking Charge

A traffic stop on Thompsonville Lane in Oak Grove led to a drug arrest Tuesday morning.

Oak Grove Police say  41-year-old Eric O’Connor was stopped for going 15 mph over the speed limit and during the stop, he admitted to drinking beer. When he was asked about any illegal drugs he reportedly showed police of vape pen with a marijuana cartridge he had been smoking.

After a search of his vehicle, a container of what is believed to be marijuana, several pills, and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found.

Police say O’Connor claimed he purchase the pill somewhere else and brought them to Kentucky stating they were ecstasy.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking ecstasy, speeding, failure to maintain required insurance and possession of marijuana.
