Traffic Stop Leads To Meth Possession Charge

A woman was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop for an expired tag on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 53-year-old Lisa Pinela had an expired Tennessee temporary tag and almost collided with a Hopkinsville police officer while changing lanes. During the stop, she was found to have a pipe with meth residue inside of it and a small bag of a crystal substance believed to be meth.

She was arrested and charged with improper passing, no registration plate, failure to notify of address change to the department of transportation and possession of meth.
