Two Injured In Interstate 24 Construction Zone Crash

More information has been released about a wreck on Interstate 24 in Oak Grove that sent two people to the hospital Monday afternoon.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an SUV driven by 63-year-old Theresa Lykins, of Hopkinsville, was westbound when she hit the back of an SUV driven by 65-year-old Guadalupe Rodriguez, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, that was stopped due to construction traffic.

Lykins told deputies she notice the vehicles were stopped and looked down to turn off her cruise control when the collision happened.

Lykins along with a passenger in Rodriguez’s vehicle 67-year-old Alice Strasser also of Stevens Point, Wisconsin were treated and transported by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for injuries.

The crash happened just after 1 p.m.
