Teenager Charged With Possession Of Fentanyl

A Hopkinsville teenager was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on Sharpe Street Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jayden Drake due to the vehicle having a headlight out.

Drake reportedly sped up and drove into a field and shut the vehicle’s lights off. He was located in the backseat of the vehicle but after talking with another passenger police say they admitted Drake was driving.

Marijuana, two M30 Fentanyl pills, and a glass smoking device were reportedly found in the vehicle. Drake allegedly claimed that the pills were not his but there were 12 of them.

Police say he made comments at the jail about how he might die and admitted he swallowed 10 pills. Drake was then taken to the hospital for evaluation.

He is charged with disregarding a stop sign, one headlight, operating on a suspended revoked license, possession of marijuana, possession of fentanyl, and tampering with physical evidence
