Man Charged After Hopkinsville Wreck

A Hopkinsville man was charged with wanton endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident after a wreck on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Matthew Mitchell was seen by police weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

While officers attempted to catch up to him, they pulled up on a wreck at the intersection of East 3rd Street and witnesses reportedly pointed out his vehicle as being involved.

Police say Mitchell was located at Little River Park yelling and cursing. He was arrested and charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, second-degree disorderly conduct, and first-degree wanton endangerment.
