Virginia Della White Slayton, 85, Hopkinsville, passed on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
Services will be Saturday, June 10 at 11:00 at the Durrett Avenue Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the Cave Spring Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 at the church.
Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Virginia was the daughter of the late James White and Mildred Taylor. She was born May 25, 1938, in Christian Co.
Virginia was a member of Durrett Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Chorus, bus ministry, and a senior usher. She was employed in Dietary at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Virginia enjoyed cooking, modeling, working crossword puzzles, spending time with family, and attending church until her health failed her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy White; Siblings, Mary Lee Pollard, Cecil Burrus, Nora Braxton, Ernest Braxton, and Jimmy Crew; Niece, Deborah Pollard Liggins.
Survivors include her children, Bobby White, Katrina (Ralph) Harbor, Troy Slayton, and Robert Slayton; Sister, Martha Brewer; Special Friends, Bertha Bussell, Wanda Willis, Gloria Slayton, and Dora Woodard; Devoted Niece, Mary Pollard; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
