A Hopkinsville woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor after her child was found walking alone Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 37-year-old Sarah Smith did not know her 3-year-old child was missing until law enforcement questioned her about the child.
The child was reportedly missing for an hour and walked through a heavily wooded area behind the home and into the back door of a residence on Mclean Avenue.
Smith was cited for endangering the welfare of a minor.
