A jail deputy and previous sheriff in Todd County was arrested on a warrant for sodomy and official misconduct Tuesday morning.
Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say 57-year-old William Stokes was arrested on a Kentucky State Police warrant charging him with third-degree sodomy and first-degree official misconduct.
According to the warrant Stokes was seen by a witness in a maintenance room at the Todd County Detention Center on April 26th with a male inmate and after two interviews with the inmate he stated he was performing a sexual act on Stokes.
The witness reportedly told law enforcement Stokes’s pants were open and it appeared the inmate was performing a sexual act.
Video from the hallway allegedly shows Stokes and the inmate entering the maintenance room, with Stokes later exiting with his clothing appearing to be disheveled.
Stokes is being held at the Logan County Jail. Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident.
