Following the announcement of Carrie Caples becoming the new principal at Bluegrass Learning Academy, Christian County Public Schools also announced Thursday afternoon an interim principal to serve at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School.
Starting Saturday, July 1, Stephanie Blanton will serve as the interim principal. She is the assistant principal and has held that position for two years.
Blanton is a graduate of Christian County High School and Murray State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and has earned multiple master’s degrees from the college. She began teaching first-grade classes at MLK in 2008 and has taught 3rd-grade students. Blanton has also served as a reading and math interventionist with the school.
She and her husband, William, reside in Hopkinsville and have three sons, Ty, Trey, and TJ.
