A suppression hearing was scheduled in the case of two women charged in connection to a cold murder case in Christian County.
Annastaja Hathaway and her attorney, Brandi Jones, along with Lashanda Bell and her attorney, appeared before Circuit Court Judge Andrew Self for a pretrial conference Wednesday afternoon. Jones asked Judge Self to schedule a suppression hearing.
click to download audioJones said her plan is to sit down with Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen in the next two weeks about this case to see where they are at in this case on whether a motion will be filed or not.
Judge Self set the deadline to file the motion and the suppression hearing in June with a July pretrial conference.

Person was arrested in Union County in May of 2022 and Hathaway was taken into custody in Houston, Texas in June of 2022 in connection to the cold case.
A third person, Regina Vause, was arrested in the murder case but saw her murder charge dropped in July of 2022 at the request of detectives with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and then Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling. Her case was dismissed without prejudice, meaning if the Commonwealth were to discover any new evidence that implicates Vause in connection with the crime, she could be re-indicted.
