Beshear Visits Princeton To Celebrate Catholic Charities & Partners (w/PHOTOS)

Governor Andy Beshear visited Princeton on Monday to honor Catholic Charities and their partners for constructing new homes in a subdivision ravaged by the December 10, 2021  tornado, and to celebrate the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The celebration was attended by a diverse crowd of partners from Catholic Charities, homeowners, and members of the local community, who heard inspiring words from the representatives of organizations that had collaborated with Catholic Charities to help with the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Susan Montalvo-Gesser, a representative of Catholic Charities, praised Caldwell County Emergency Manager Joey McCaslin for helping save lives that tragic night.

click to download audioShe acknowledged the tragic loss of four lives in Caldwell County that night but expressed gratitude for those who had raised the alarm and prevented potentially a greater loss of life.

Montalvo-Gesser also thanked Catholic Charities and its local case management team and a long list of their partners who have helped the survivors with recovery.

click to download audioPrinceton Mayor Brock Thomas thanked Catholic Charities for hosting the event Monday and expressed his gratitude to Princeton residents, Steffani Burton and her husband, Chris for all of their hard work, adding that it was a blessing to see the rebuilt homes in the subdivision.

click to download audioThe crowd on hand also heard comments from representatives from Cross Roads Ministries, Knights of Columbus, American Red Cross, Princeton Rotary Club, and HR Ministries.

Governor Beshear was the last to speak from the podium and expressed his gratitude to the groups that have helped with the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

click to download audioAfter his remarks, the governor and the homeowners posed for pictures in front of the three newly built homes located on North Deerfield Drive and Troon Drive. The homeowners then gave Governor Beshear a tour of their new houses.
