Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Possession Charges For Hopkinsville Man

A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on Broad Street Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 18-year-old Davonte Green was stopped for not wearing a seat belt and was found to not have an operator’s license during the stop. He was arrested and after arriving at the jail a small crystal substance believed to be meth was reportedly found between the seats of the police cruiser.

He is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, failure to wear a seat belt, and no operator’s license.
