It was April 8, 1966, when WKDZ first signed on the air, and serving the community has continued to be the station’s main focus 57 years later.
Willie Wilson, responsible for signing the station on for the first time, told Your News Edge that WKDZ’s dedication to the community has been unwavering.
Wilson said he’s always excited to see what WKDZ and the Edge Media Group are doing next for the area.
The 93-year-old Wilson still remembered his first sign-on day.
Wilson provided Thursday’s Bank of Cadiz and Trust Company ‘Thought for the Day.’
WKDZ started in a building on Will Jackson Road in Trigg County and moved out to its current location near Interstate 24 in Cadiz in 2004.
