The Gateway Garden Club, a Trigg County group, recently received three awards from the 92nd annual Garden Club of Kentucky convention.

Becky Oliver, a club member, told Your News Edge they placed 2nd with a Bird Protection project.

Additionally, Oliver said they placed 2nd with a Wildflowers project.

The group also placed 3rd with a Butterfly Protect project.

The Gateway Garden Club was formed in 1971 with the help of Charlotte Wilson. They do several community projects, with a focus on Blue Star Garden, located across the street from Hancock’s Neighborhood Market in Cadiz.

The group works in that garden on the first Wednesday of every month.

The Gateway Garden Club also meets the second Wednesday morning of every month at 10:00 at the John L. Street Public Library. The group intends to stay busy this year.

Oliver invites everyone to be a part of the group, and if you see them working in Blue Star Garden, stop by and give them a helping hand.
