Man Charged After Fleeing From Police

A Cadiz man was charged after he fled from police in Hopkinsville Sunday night.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 27-year-old Donald Bacon for speeding through a parking lot and failing to use a turn signal on South Virginia Street.

He reportedly sped up turning onto East 1st Street failing to stop at several stop signs and almost hit a vehicle before the pursuit was terminated.

He was later located on Aspen Drive and found to have an active warrant for an assault on December 17th, 2021 where he allegedly assaulted a man by punching and choking him and grabbed a woman by her ankles, and attempted to drag her out of the house.

He was arrested on the warrant along with charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, failure to or improper signal, disregarding a traffic control device, and disregarding a stop sign.
