James E. Abell, Sr., 65, of Crofton, Kentucky died at 11:08 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his residence.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky he was born on December 8, 1957, to the late Thomas W. Abell, Sr., and Delia Catherine Allen Abell. In his working years, James was employed as a Tree Trimmer with Asplendh Tree Service and as a Construction Worker with Madisonville Pavers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 daughter; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Survivors include his: son: James E. Abell, Jr. of Crofton, KY; daughter Courtney McGar of Hopkinsville, KY; brothers: Maurice Abell of Hanson, KY; and David Abell of Shepherdsville, KY; sisters: Grace Kessinger of Louisville, KY; Carolyn Leslie of Shepherdsville, KY; and Alice Richard of Cecilia, KY; and Delia Warnell of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
