Hopkinsville’s Rosencrance Joins Cadiz Police Department

Another officer has come into the fold with the Cadiz Police Department.

Early Tuesday morning at Cadiz City Hall, Mayor Todd King swore in Rusty Rosencrance — a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Retired out of Fort Campbell and the military, Rosencrance said he worked overseas as a contractor before returning to this region — where he worked for the Hopkinsville Police Department and then the Christian County Sheriff’s K-9 unit before looking to small-town living.

With a son in the military and a daughter who lives in Bowling Green, Rosencrance further assured his home is here in west Kentucky.

Cadiz Police Chief Duncan Wiggins said his newest hire will work on patrol until the beginning of the 2023-24 school year, where he will then transition into one of Trigg County’s school resource officers.

Currently, Jack Lingenfelter and Richard Palmer are serving in those SRO positions.

Rosencrance has already taken a short tour of the school district alongside Major Tyler Thomas, and he’s looking forward to his new posts.

Another officer, who will serve as SRO for the remainder of this school year, will be sworn in at 8 AM next Tuesday. Wiggins further noted the CPD is once again approaching a full staff.
