The Hoptown Hoppers welcomed a new General Manager late last month.

Danny Roberts, who is the vice president of operations at BryMak & Associates, is a longtime Hoppers fan and the fourth GM in Hoppers’ franchise history.

Roberts tells the News Edge he is proud to give back to his community in this capacity.

As we get closer to wooden bat summer collegiate baseball season, Roberts says they are continuing to work on this year’s roster.

As Roberts searches for interns, the team is also looking for host families for the players that will join the roster.

Looking at the roster that is taking shape, Roberts says you might recognize a few of the players.

In addition to Roberts, the Hoppers will have a new coach in E.J. Devarie, who is the assistant baseball coach at the University of Indianapolis.

Roberts says the Ohio Valley League wooden bat summer collegiate baseball teams will welcome the Clarksville Whirlybirds this season. Also, the team originally from Franklin, Kentucky, will now be known as the Bowling Green Pistons.

The Hoppers’ home games will take place at Christian County High School this season.
