Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocking I-24 Eastbound on Cumberland River Bridge

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting a multi-vehicle crash blocking Interstate 24 Eastbound at the Cumberland Bridge.

District 1 spokesman Keith Todd says early reports indicate the injury crash near the 34-mile marker at the Lyon-Livingston County Line involves a couple of SEMI trucks and several passenger vehicles.

The estimated duration is 4 hours or approximately 1:30 a.m.

According to Todd, eastbound I-24 traffic is being exited off at the KY 453 Grand Rivers Exit 31 Interchange to take KY 453 South to U.S. 62 East. Traffic will return to I-24 Eastbound via the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 interchange. While traffic is light due to the icy weather, he urges motorists to be alert for heavy detour traffic along this section of U.S. 62 through Lake City and Suwanee.
