Hopkinsville City Council Passes Participation Ordinance

There was very little discussion at the first Hopkinsville City Council meeting in 2023 under the leadership of new Mayor J. R. Knight. Tuesday night, City Council dealt with two outstanding matters: the second reading of the Citizen Participation ordinance.

In other business, dozens of appointments were filled as a matter of housekeeping: Crystal Ferreira to the Pennyroyal Area Museum Board, Patricia Bell and Doug Wilcox to the Housing Authority Board, Wilcox to the Industrial Development Authority, Travis Martin to the Hopkinsville-Christian Co. Ambulance Service Board, Donald Marsh to the Christian County Senior Center Board, Retired Senior Volunteers Program Council, Westwood Senior Homes Board, and Hopkinsville/Christian County ECC Board, Robert Terry Meek the Tax Increment Finance Development Authority and Hopkinsville and Christian County Airport Board, Matthew Handy the Human Rights Commission and Pennyroyal Area Museum Board, Jamie Lienberger the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library Board, Christian County Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, Inner-City Advisory Committee, and Pennyrile RC&D Council, Bruce Smiley the Long Range Planning and Coordination Committee and the Hopkinsville Cable Television Oversight Authority, Natasha Sophia Francis to the Board of Appeals and the Western Hills Municipal Golf Course Board, Travis Martin to the Christian County 911 Advisory Board, Surface and Stormwater Utility Board, and the SWK EDC, Chuck Crabtree to the Christian County Weather Spotters Board, Amy Craig the Hopkinsville Electric System Board, Steve Keel the Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise Board, Jason Bell the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority Board and Little River Water Quality Consortium, Marsh and Wilcox to the Pennyrile Solid Waste Management Authority.
