A homeowner reportedly fired her gun at two people attempting to enter her home on South Virginia Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say just before 3 am they were called for a report of a burglary in progress and found that the homeowner had shot at two suspects that were trying to enter her home through the back door.
As police were investigating the burglary they received a report of a man who was shot that showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police say it’s unknown if the two incidents are connected at this time.
The burglary was reported at the 2300 block of South Virginia Street.
The man was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville to be treated for his injuries.
