Henderson Arraigned On New Manslaughter Charge

A Hopkinsville man was arraigned for a second time on manslaughter charges in a case that got Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling in some trouble with the Kentucky Supreme Court earlier this year.

Seth Henderson entered a not-guilty plea Wednesday afternoon in Christian County Circuit Court to new charges of complicity to second-degree manslaughter and a first offense of trafficking in a controlled substance

Henderson is charged with the January 2021 overdose death of Corbin Bowling.

He was originally indicted on charges of second-degree manslaughter but that charge was dismissed by the court in May after Boling was accused of falsifying his testimony about text messages pertaining to Henderson to the grand jury.

After hearing arguments based on testimony from the Christian County sheriff’s detectives and a review of the grand jury proceeding, Judge Andrew Self granted the motion to dismiss the indictment and found that Boling had provided false or misleading information to the grand jury that led to the original indictment.

Less than a week later, the Kentucky Supreme Court issued a show-cause order to determine whether Boling’s law license of Boling should be suspended. No ruling has been made.

On Wednesday, Judge Self set a January 11 pre-trial conference for Henderson on the new charges that were the result of a new indictment.

A co-defendant in the case, Joshua Long, pled guilty as part of an agreement with the Commonwealth that requires him to testify against Henderson and saw a jail sentence probated.
