Clarksville Pursuit With Tractor-Trailer Ends In Christian County (w/VIDEO)

A police pursuit with a tractor-trailer that started in Clarksville ended in Oak Grove Saturday afternoon.

Oak Grove Police say the pursuit crossed into Kentucky on Fort Campbell Boulevard and the tractor-trailer lost a tire then the driver 33-year-old Vincent Hawkins Jr. of Clarksville turned into Walmart.

The truck reportedly struck several vehicles during the pursuit before hitting a sign, a concrete pole, and a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.

Hawkins then fled on foot in the Oak Grove Walmart parking lot but was quickly apprehended after being tased.

Police say the pursuit started on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville.

Police say they were able to block intersections and clear vehicles out of the way on Fort Campbell Boulevard after being notified that the pursuit was coming from Tennessee.

Oak Grove Police are charging Hawkins with first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, DUI, and several counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Tennessee law enforcement has not released any information about charges at this time.
