A Hopkinsville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

38-year-old Buddy Chambless saw federal charges of possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm lodged against him through a federal complaint. Officials said Chambless had a prior felony conviction for trafficking meth while armed with the indictment seeking forfeiture of over a dozen firearms that were seized during the course of the investigation.

Chambless was arrested in March after the Christian County Anti-Crime Unit conducted a search of a home on East 7th Street and found 16 firearms, meth, and a large amount of money.

If convicted, Chambless faces up to 40 years in prison.
