School System Seeks Construction Manager To Mitigate Building Costs

Hopkinsville Christian County Academy may yet be moving forward. Since rejecting the General Contractor bids, the Christian County Public School administration has been looking into others options.

Thursday night Assistant Superintendent Josh Hunt asked the Board of Education to again consider a Construction Manager for the project.

click to download audioAttorney Jack Lackey says the process could end with 300 bids for different parts of the project, which is why he initially suggested a General Contractor. The Board voted 3 to 1 to solicit bids from Construction Managers. Mike Walker voted no.

click to download audioTiffany Mumford-Brame was not in attendance. Christian County Middle School was build with a construction manager. In other business, the district is also seeking bids for the bell system at Christian County Middle School.
