New Caring Cradle Dedicated At Jennie Stuart Health

The obstetrics floor of Jennie Stuart Medical Center has a new Caring Cradle following a Wednesday dedication at the hospital.

Nick and Kelsey Disney of Clarksville donated the cradle, which uses cooling mechanisms to allow grieving parents extra time with their baby following a stillbirth. Having experienced comfort previously provided by a Caring Cradle during their own difficult loss, Kelsey and Nick set out to provide the Caring Cradle for families who experience similar heartache.

The Disneys raised money through various fundraisers and donated the cradle to the Jennie Stuart Health Foundation, the philanthropic subsidiary of Jennie Stuart Health.

The couple donated the cradle in honor of their daughter, Bella River, who was stillborn on August 30, 2020. During the dedication, a plaque that is permanently displayed on the Caring Cradle was presented in memory of Bella River Disney.

Tracey Clark, executive director of the foundation, said the gift is a stellar example of how caring individuals can impact and expand the services they provide through the hospital.
