Hottest Weather Of 2022 Coming Next Week

While the official start of Summer is less than two weeks away, western Kentucky is likely to see its hottest weather of 2022 next week.

The National Weather Service in Paducah said Wednesday that temperatures in the early part of next week are expected to rise into the 90s each afternoon. This heat, combined with humidity, will produce heat index values in the upper 90s to lower 100s.

Based on the current forecast, the National Weather Service said widespread heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees will be most common on Tuesday. Most of western Kentucky has yet to see the mercury top 90 degrees in 2022.

In addition, the temperature outlook for June 15th through June 21st is for well above normal temperatures for this time of year. Normal highs for western Kentucky are around 88 degrees.

The weather service encourages people to plan ahead for the heat and humidity. Drink plenty of water, be on the outlook for signs of heat stress to your body and keep an eye on those persons, pets, and livestock that may be vulnerable to the heat and humidity.
