The sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday will soon be legal in the city of Hopkinsville following action Tuesday night during the Hopkinsville City Council meeting.
Council members voted unanimously to allow the sale of alcohol on Sunday after the ordinance was read by City Clerk Chrissy Fletcher. Prior to the first reading of the ordinance, Councilman Terry Parker proposed amending the original ordinance to allow alcohol sales until 2 am instead 1 am as originally proposed.
click to download audioHopkinsville City Council also approved an ordinance that will allow for employee stipends of up to $4,000 who were employed between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2020. The ordinance provides up to $1.2 million dollars in funding from the American Rescue Plan.
