Adult And Two Children Injured In Caldwell County Wreck

An adult was flown to a Nashville hospital and two children were taken to a local hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on Marion Road in Caldwell County Saturday night.

Caldwell County Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Noel responded to the wreck on KY 91 North around the Skinframe Creek Road intersection shortly before 6:45 p.m.

According to Chief Deputy Noel’s investigation, 18-year old Dalton D. Hicks of Princeton was driving south on Marion Road when he came around a curve and lost control of the car. Hicks’ vehicle reportedly went sideways in the roadway and was hit by a northbound car driven by 29-year old Nikkie L Barnes of Paducah.

Barnes was extricated from her vehicle by Caldwell County Rescue/Fire Department and flown from the scene to a Nashville hospital for what Chief Deputy Noel said were non-life threatening injuries. He said two children, ages 9 and 5, who were passengers in Barnes’ car were transported by Caldwell County EMS to Caldwell County Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Hicks reportedly sustained minor injuries and was evaluated and treated on the scene by Caldwell County EMS

Chief Ceputy Noel was assisted on the scene by Kentucky State Police, Caldwell County Fire/Rescue, Caldwell County EMS, Air Evac, and the Kentucky State Highway Department.
