The opening weekend of the Hopkinsville-Christian County downtown farmer’s market drew nearly a dozen vendors with a warm weather forecast this weekend expected to see that number grow.

Laura Faulkner with the farmer’s market said 11 vendors participated in Saturday’s opening day. She said there was a variety of produce, plants, meats, eggs, and hand-crafted items available on the first day.

She said the open-air pavilion gives people a chance to talk with the vendors about their wares and interact with other shoppers.
