Police Investigate Suspected Fatal Drug Overdose As Possible Homicide

Police are investigating after two women who were found unresponsive in a vehicle on Braden Street in Hopkinsville Sunday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 39-year-old Chutney Armstrong of Clarksville was pronounced dead at the scene and a second woman in the car, Kelli Hines of Hopkinsville, was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by ambulance. Hines was later flown to a Nashville hospital.

Police say the women are believed to have overdosed on fentanyl or some other kind of drug. Police add that drugs were found in the vehicle and are being sent to the state crime lab.

The car they were in was backed into the driveway of 306 Braden Street. When police were called around 7 pm the reporting person allegedly stated the women had slept in the car overnight.

Police say they are investigating it as a possible homicide and are looking for who may have given the women the drugs.
