Cadiz Man Charged With Possession Of Drugs

A Cadiz man was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on Hopkinsville Road at Interstate 24 Sunday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Collings says 39-year-old Byran Jones was stopped for having an expired operator’s license and during the stop marijuana could be seen in his lap along with meth in a bag in his hand.

Jones reportedly told deputies the bag in his hand was “ice” and asked if he could just throw it out. Collings says after searching the vehicle 5 blue fentanyl pills disguised as Oxycodone pills were located.

Jones was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, failure to maintain required insurance, possession of marijuana, meth, and opiates.
