UPDATE: Wanted Reckless Homicide Suspect Arrested In Tennessee

A man wanted for reckless homicide in connection to a fatal wreck in Lyon County in June 2020 has been arrested in Tennessee.

Kentucky State Police Post 1 in Mayfield reports Jose Antonio was taken into custody by the Portland, Tennessee Police Department and lodged in the Sumner County Jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky.

According to state police, Antonio was driving a vehicle eastbound on Interstate 24 in Lyon County that resulted in a head-on collision on June 22, 2020 that claimed the life of a passenger in the other vehicle involved in the wreck.

The facts of the case were presented to a Lyon County grand jury that led to Antonio being indicted on charges of reckless homicide, four counts of fourth-degree assault-minor injury, driving on a DUI suspended license, and failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance. Police said an arrest warrant was issued for Antonio, of Portland, Tennessee, on November 3, 2021.
