2022 Cadiz-Trigg County Hometown Hero Banner Guidelines

Purpose:

Honor and recognize Cadiz-Trigg County servicemen and women and their families who have served or given their lives to our country in the United States Armed Forces.

Application Requirements:

In order to be considered for a banner, the nominee must meet the following requirements:

  • Lived in Trigg County at some point in their lifetime
  • Served in one of the following branches: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard or Coast Guard
  • Meet one of the following criteria: (a) Be an honorably discharged Veteran (living or deceased) or (b) Died in the line of duty or (c) currently active duty.  Verification will be required.

Banner Design, Time Frame & Location:

  • Banners are 18”x 45″, double sided material and include service person’s name, branch of service, and photograph.
  • Banners will be displayed on flag/light poles throughout downtown Cadiz from Flag Day (June 14) to 9/11 (September) and again in November for Veteran’s Day.
  • Locations will be selected randomly and specific display locations cannot be requested.
  • Banners will be stored at the City of Cadiz.  Applications not processed for the current year will be placed on a waiting list for the next year’s Banner Program.
  • Banners for living individuals MUST have signed permission from the individual for their image to be used.
  • Extra banners may be purchased at the time of application only.  Families may request that the banner be given to the family at any time.  When current banners are retired, they may be picked up at City Hall.
  • Last date to order additional banners is April 15.

Banner Information and Photograph:

  • Please secure the photograph you would like to use on the banner and submit it with your application. Efforts will be made to return the photo to you; however, this is not guaranteed.
  • The City will does not have the capability to enhance your photograph.  What is submitted will be used.
  • Photographs submitted in a high resolution .jpg format are preferred.

Application Deadline:

  • Applications may be picked up at City Hall, Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00PM.

  • Applications must be submitted by close of business, April 15, 2022.

Completed Application MUST include the following:

  • Application form
  • Photograph of Veteran – submitted electronically in .jpg format to onmain@cityofcadiz.com with Subject:  Hometown Hero Banner 2022.
  • Fee of $50 – which can be paid by cash, check, money order.  Payments made by debit or credit card will include credit card fee.
  • Applications must be submitted no later than April 15, 2022.
