The Christian County Grand Jury has indicted a Hopkinsville man in connection to a double homicide on Peach Street in August of 2021.

A true bill was returned for 32-year old Anthony Thomas Gaines on charges of two counts of murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Gaines is accused of the deaths of 21-year old George Gomez and 25-year old Kiera Wallace who deputies said were found inside of a Peach Street home with gunshot wounds on August 7, 2021.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported that calls to 9-1-1 indicated a neighbor heard several shots before 8:00 that morning when the neighbor went to the home to check on the family and found a door to the residence was open. The neighbor also reported seeing a person leaving the home in a vehicle.

Gaines is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
